Cisco Seeks To Accelerate Qatar’s Digitization Agenda With Appointment Of Hasan Khan As General Manager

Cisco has today announced the appointment of Hasan Khan as the company’s General Manager for Qatar. With the country continuing to lead regional megaprojects and smart city investments, Khan is now responsible for executing Cisco’s country-wide vision and strategy, delivering transformational value to customers and partners across Qatar.

As part of his role, Hasan is also welcomed as an integral member of the Cisco’s regional leadership team, contributing towards the success of the wider Middle East and Africa landscape. Working alongside employees in-country, he will help to develop and lead Cisco’s business, customers and partners in enabling continued growth and impactful change.

Khan assumes the role of General Manager after having amassed a rich history of more than 20 years of experience in the ICT sector – working across channel and service provider domains, as well as with public and private sector organizations. Developing in his career with Cisco since 2006, Hasan has become a central asset and contributor towards the success of the Qatar team.

In his experience with the company, Khan has forged key relationships with industry stakeholders and grown Cisco’s on-ground success. In recent years, Hasan has led the private sector team, orchestrating major project wins across key industry verticals such as transport, utilities, oil and gas, sports and media.

Commenting on the appointment, Shukri Eid, Managing Director, Cisco Gulf Region said, “Hasan is no stranger to the Cisco family, having proved his ability and determination over a number of years with the company. His ability to foster strong ties with employees and industry leaders alike puts Hasan in great stead to not only continue the great work we have done in Qatar, but also elevate it to new heights.”

Prior to joining Cisco, Khan served as a Sales Specialist for technology distributor, Aptec – an Ingram Micro company. In this role, he aided an increase in sales and profitability opportunities for vendors and resellers across Qatar and neighboring Gulf markets. Hasan’s early years were spent in his home country of India, where he was responsible for growing the client base for Comptel Network Systems – a local system integrator, also selling Cisco technology.
