Canadian Specialist Hospital & RTA Women Committee organize Medical Diagnoses Program

Canadian Specialist Hospital (CSH), one of the largest private hospitals in Dubai catering to the tertiary health care needs of the Middle East, in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authorities (RTA) Women Committee organized a Medical Diagnoses Program with cooperation from the Pink Caravan of ‘Friends of Cancer Patients’ Committee.
The event held on Monday included a series of medical tests for the RTA Women Committee, along with a lecture on the early detection of cancer for women, by Dr. Nabeela Shafqat from CSH. Dr Lila Sharif Askari, General Surgery Registrar for Breast Examination, Dr Darwich Al Sadek, GP Dentist, Dr Nabeela Shafqat, Clinical Nutritionist and Ms Samah Hani, Optometrist at Canadian Specialist Hospital conducted the program, which included:
Comprehensive body examination.
Vision screening and eye diseases.
Comprehensive teeth examination.
Detection and follow-up of diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol.
Nutrition advice.
Cancer screening.
Examination of osteoporosis.

The Pink Caravan is an initiative launched by the Friends of Cancer Patients, in 2011, to commemorate the occasion of their 10th anniversary celebrations. Through this noble initiative, they are strongly campaigning towards bringing together an awareness of breast cancer in the country. The Pink Caravan campaign is specifically designed to raise awareness of breast cancer and to encourage women to perform self-examinations and go for regular medical checkups. The campaign will run annually until 2014, focusing on all areas across the UAE, including remote and outlying areas, as well as city suburbs.
