Cairo Children Charity “Ana El Masry” Foundation benefits from Hilton Worldwide Helping Hand

Hilton Worldwide recently marked its partnership with leading Egypt-based children charity Ana El Masry Foundation with the announcement of two major development programmes designed to offer tangible help for the charity’s long term future.
As part of their ongoing commitment to the Foundation, Hilton Worldwide is giving four teenagers from the Foundation an opportunity to work across a number of departments at its five stars Hilton Pyramids Golf Resort. In addition, the company is also providing manpower, expertise and support in the development of new Cairo-based premises for the charity, which opened Q4 in 2011.
The on-site training programme at Hilton Pyramids Golf Resort will see the youngsters learning new skills in a range of hotel departments including F&B (food and beverage), housekeeping and maintenance. All four will visit each department on rotation giving them the widest possible comprehensive experience and helping to develop their individual abilities. This latest scheme follows a similar programme staged last year at Ramses Hilton Hotel in Cairo.
Michael Edward, Social Advisor for Ana El Masry was delighted at this latest announcement commenting: “This is excellent news not only for those teenagers taking part in the training programme but the additional help offered with our new premises is invaluable in giving the charity a solid base and a focal point for children to meet in the future. We’re very grateful to all concerned at Hilton Worldwide for their continued support.”
In contribution to the community, Hilton Pyramids Golf Resort had the pleasure to host 2 charity events during 2011 specifically for Ana El Masry to celebrate their success and to spread positive vibes among both the children and the hotel team. Ramadan Iftar witnessed a lot of the children’s talents let alone the achievements of the 4 trainee representatives with the milestones they achieved. To wrap 2011 on an encouraging note; the latter event for Ana El Masry was more about a fun day full of creative games, dancing, singing and many more to come in 2012. The attached pictures depict the excitement among all attendees.
The Ana El Masry Foundation was established in 2008 with the primary aim of tackling the issue of children living on the streets of Cairo. They focus on providing the street children with essential care and services and help them become integrated into society with a range of practical and constructive opportunities. The charity also works with low income families and marginalised communities helping to prevent those at risk from turning to the streets.
Christian Grage, Vice President Operations, Hilton Worldwide, Egypt & Levant said: “Hilton Worldwide has enjoyed a presence in Egypt for over 50 years and we are firmly committed to the country and its communities. Our aim with the Ana El Masry partnership is to offer real support and guidance by taking the children off the streets and into our hotels for training and experience across a range of departments. Our programmes give these youngsters a taste of employment, often for the first time, and help to develop the necessary skills to help them secure a job in the future.”
