BMW Group appoints new Managing Director for Middle East Region
BMW Group has today announced that Johannes Seibert will succeed Dr. Joerg Breuer as Managing Director for BMW Group operations in the Middle East. The change will be effective as of the 1st February 2014 with Dr. Breuer taking on a new leading role in the company's German market.
Since 2011, Seibert has been Vice President Marketing for the German market. He brings considerable expertise to the Middle East with more than 25 years' experience within BMW Group. Previously, he was based in Singapore as Managing Director for BMW Group Asia where he was responsible for 14 South-East Asian markets. Prior to that, he also held a number of senior management positions including Regional Director for Eastern Germany, Managing Director for BMW Group Mexico and General Manager for BMW Latin America in Panama.
Commenting on Seibert’s appointment, Graeme Grieve, Vice President, Importer Markets, BMW Group said: "Johannes brings a depth of solid experience to the leadership role at BMW Group in the Middle East, and we are confident that his knowledge of brand and product management, and marketing expertise, will contribute to the continued business success of BMW Group in the region."
During the tenure of Dr. Joerg Breuer's leadership in the Middle East, the company witnessed double digit sales growth in the region. 2012 was a record year for sales which saw the company break the 20,000 barrier for the first time ever with 21,314 cars sold to customers, a 14% increase over 2011 figures. The company has continued the trend into 2013 with year-to-date (Jan-Oct) sales across the Middle East achieving an impressive 17% sales increase.
Grieve also took the opportunity to thank Dr. Joerg Breuer for his contribution to the success of the Middle East operation: "Joerg's successful track record over the years has proven valuable to BMW Group on both regional and global levels. We wish him continued success in his new position."
