Al-Futtaim Motors joins a nation-wide blood donation drive

As part of the company’s corporate responsibility towards the community, Al-Futtaim Motors joined the nation-wideblood donation initiativein line with ‘My Blood for My Country’ campaign launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Executive Council.

The first phase of Al Futtaim Motors’ “My Blood for the UAE” campaign held at the Toyota showroom in Dubai Festival City on January 28^thand at Al-Futtaim Motors Al Badia 3S facility on 29^th, was in partnership withSharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, which set a mobile blood transfusion collection unit to welcome 158 donors from all Al-Futtaim group and their visitors.

“Every drop of blood is valuable as it can help save the lives of many patients across the UAE who are in vital need of blood transfusion due to a chronic illness or an accident. We saw in this a great opportunity to acontribution in a very worthy cause. However it would have never been possible without our associates’ sense of responsibility towards the needs of the community” said Simon Frith, Managing Director Al-Futtaim Motors.

“We felt this drive deserves involving not only Al-Futtaim Motors’ but the group’semployees and visitors. The urge to help was felt by the majority of associates in the group who rushed to register their names as soon as they knew about this opportunity” added Frith

Employees were encouraged to invite their friends and families who are looking for an opportunity to support this cause.

The campaign will be rolled out across other Al-Futtaim Motors showrooms to give employees in other emirates the same opportunity to make their donation count.

Traffic accidents are a major cause of death and serious injury, where transfusions are often required. Eligible donors are always encouraged to give blood twice a year, which would greatly help maintain an adequate blood supply for the community.
