Acting General Manager and the Senior Officers of Emarat visit Fujairah Terminal for Storing and Distributing petroleum products

H.E. Adel Khalifah Al Shaer, the Acting General Manager together with the senior officers of Emirates General Petroleum Corporation “Emarat” conduct a field visit to Fujairah Terminal for Storing and Distributing diesel, fuel oil, gasoline and jet fuel, the construction of which has been completed recently. During the visit, the Acting General Manager had a tour covering all facilities of the Terminal and inspected all its premises, facilities and equipment. 

The Terminal which forms a new pillar of the national economy contains 13 tanks with a total capacity of 260,000 cubic meters for a total cost of AED 300 million. 

The Acting General Manager and his attendants listened to Eng. Mr. Arif Eissa Al Muhairi – Engineering and Services Manager and to Eng. Khalfan Edrees Khalfan Al Zaabi, Operation Manager in Emarat who explained elaborately the early stages and the phases of executing the project together with its various mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment and the safety precautions and alarm systems applied in this Terminal. 

Eng. Arif announced that this project is considered one of the most important and vital economic projects, as it aims to meet the growing regional demand for petroleum products storage and providing vessels, power stations and commercial and retail sectors together with international markets with their needs of fuel with competitive rates. 

Eng. Arif added that the design of the new tanks complies with the highest criteria of safety, as they employ control system in accordance with international standards. Also, the project is situated in a strategic area that facilitates supplying fuel to commercial ships, as it has its routes to shipping docks in Fujairah Port, the African markets and the Indian Peninsula. 

In addition, Eng. Khalfan Al Zaabi stated that “based on the wide and long experience in managing fuel terminals, Emarat is intending to market this project to international partners in oil field as the Corporation is currently managing five (5) terminals with a total capacity of 383 thousand cubic meters in different locations in the UAE in addition to two terminals in partnership with international partners with a total capacity of 285 thousand cubic meter”. 

HE Adel Khalifah Al Shaer further said that the project will be managed by Emarat and supervised by a trained and qualified team that has the required expertise and capacity to run such a project.
