Abu Dhabi Municipality and Partners Issue 118 Offences Against Eyesores at Al Mafraq Industrial

Abu Dhabi City Municipality in cooperation with the strategic partners (Department of Economic Development, Integrated Transport Center (Mawaqef), and Saaed traffic systems) continued its campaign targeting negative practices marring the urban landscape at Al Mafraq Industrial area.

The move, which is part of the ongoing campaigns launched by the Abu Dhabi City Municipality in all districts, aims to raise the awareness about the importance of protecting the beautiful view of the city and spotting violations in this regard. It underscores the commitment of Abu Dhabi City Municipality and partners to protecting the environment against uncivilized practices disfiguring the view of Abu Dhabi city, and undermining the public health. The campaign is launched under Law No (2) regarding Protecting the Public Appearance, Health and Tranquility in Abu Dhabi along with its Executive Regulation.

Through the inspection visits made by teams of the Inspection and Monitoring Division at Musaffah Municipal Center targeting residential districts, open areas and public realms, the Municipality served 299 warnings for abandoned vehicles, and 210 warnings for marring the public view. It has also issued 118 offences against violators of the public view.

The campaign spotted violations relating to abandoned vehicles, building waste, thronging residential units and others.

In the same context, the Municipality called on community members to shun all sorts of negative practices undermining the urban appearance of the city and contributing to the convenience of individuals.

It called on community members to avoid being served with warnings or slapped with offences and fines through complying with the provisions of Law No (2). The Municipality pointed that the cooperation of residents and complying with the applicable laws contributes to achieving the highest health and safety standards for all; which is a standing requirement of the ADM.

It is noteworthy that Musaffah Municipal Center and partners launched this campaign on 24 January and is still on the go. It covers all areas within the environs of Musaffah Municipal Center.
