The national enterprise of Algiers harbor (EPAL) plans to invest AD20.7 billion between 2005 and 2010 for the development of the harbour, EPAL president, Ali Farah said Monday.
According to him, this amount will be used for the construction of a second containers terminal, grain silo of 100,000 tons and a system for bags trade in addition to an extension of the extra harbor zone of Rouiba.
Concerning the current investments, he indicated that they are estimated at AD3.2 billion and deals with the exploitation building, the realization of a car park for rolling and an infrared control system of containers, the acquisition of two anti-metal detector frame for quay and four anti-metal detector frame for park, the realization of a museum of Algiers harbor, the refitting of the harbor station and the dredging of the accesses to the different quays.
"Last decade during 1993-2003, EPAL recorded a program of more than AD6 billion for a program devoted to the harbor authority, with the superstructures of terminal container and Rouiba harbor," Farah stated, according to APS. (menareport.com)
