Pepsi has launched a special edition of Pepsi cans on the occasion of Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) 2002. The series celebrates the vibrant spirit of Dubai and is anticipated to become a collectors’ item, according to a company press release. The Pepsi DSF souvenir cans feature some of Dubai’s landmarks—Burj Al Arab, Emirates Towers, Dubai International Airport and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) flag.
The cans are available at supermarkets and grocery stores throughout Dubai. The Pepsi souvenir series will be available until end-March when the Dubai Shopping Festival concludes, and are being sold at the same price as normal cans.
“Pepsi has been present in Dubai for over 50 years ad we feel that we are an integrated part of this city,” commented Talal Al-Khalil, marketing director at PEPSICO Beverages International, Gulf. “To showcase our commitment to Dubai and our involvement with the local community, we have created a set of special souvenir cans, which are surely proving to be collectors’ items.”
Pepsi is the best-selling soft drink in the Middle East, where it outsells its nearest competitor by 2:1. The company offers a range of products—Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mirinda (Orange, Apple, Lemon and Strawberry), 7UO, Diet 7UP, Mountain Dew, Shani and Teem—through a regional network of 27 exclusive Pepsi franchise bottlers. — (menareport.com)
