One day after the launching of the new Palestine @ Gulf Office at Dubai Internet City, the Palestinian information technology (IT) sector declares its readiness to do business with Dubai and the Gulf.
Some eight Palestinian IT companies are already at GITEX 2002 presenting a range of products and software solutions. Eight of the companies will not go back to Palestine before setting up shop at the Palestine @ Gulf Office at DIC, creating a permanent presence this time. In addition to the companies remaining behind,
The planned office is the first Palestinian IT marketing, promotion, and technical service office to be established in the Arab World. The office offers regional and international IT sector a unique opportunity to learn more about the Palestinian IT potential and thus opens doors for business and cooperation.
The second participation at GITEX 2002 is a strategic decision for the companies as Palestine is undergoing tremendous economic downturn. The Palestine Trade Center (Paltrade) is the annual GITEX organizer and supporter for the Palestinian participation at GITEX, its support is a measure of commitment of the center towards promotion of Palestinian Trade. The Palestinian organization managing the office at DIC is the Palestinian IT Association of companies. — (menareport.com)
