Sweden’s PA Resources (PAR) with its Tunisian subsidiary Hydrocarbure Tunisie Corporation (HTC) has completed two onshore development and exploration wells in the Douleb field. The exploration well has been tested and an oil discovery in a new reservoir has been made, stated a press release.
Total Douleb field production has increased by approximately 50 percent to 600 barrels per day. PAR is operator and has a 70 percent participation interest in the field. The DL 14 well is the first well in a series of wells to be drilled over a period of five years in the Douleb, Semmama and Tamesmida fields, labeled the DST Project.
A total of eight wells have been planned with a total budget of $10 million. DL 14 was spudded June 26, 2003. Target depth was reached in the known and producing Limestones & Dolomites/Serdj reservoir at 1,100 meters. Well testing of the Dolomitic reservoir is still ongoing.
The newest well, DL 18 was spudded on September 1, 2003 and drilling is underway. The well is expected to increase oil production from the Dolomitic reservoir, and to appraise the "BedBars" reservoir. Current depth has been reported at 1,400 meters of a total of 1,500 meters.
Output from the wells will be transferred via flowline to the existing infrastructure and production facilities at Douleb. The oil will then be exported through a 174-kilometer export pipeline connecting the Douleb field to La Skhira Port tank and facilities in South East Tunisia. — (menareport.com)
