ALBAWABA – OpenAI will make one billion dollars in sales by end of 2023 if the company stays on track, unnamed sources told Bloomberg Wednesday.
As more businesses adopt the company’s generative AI bot, ChatGPT, the Microsoft-backed start-up is earning about $80 million in revenues per month, the source said.
The company lost around $540 million in 2022 developing GPT-4 and ChatGPT, according to Bloomberg, who reached out to OpenAI for comments but to no avail.
OpenAI is moving forward with the rollout of its corporate version, ChatGPT Enterprise, launched earlier this month. It is part of the company’s plan to generate revenue from its ubiquitous chatbot, which is enormously popular but very expensive to operate because robust AI models require lots of computing power.
Months ago, OpenAI launched its GPT-4 premium subscription service, which offers users features that are not available on ChatGPT.
