Oman LNG and Tractebel LNG Trading signed an agreement, under which Oman will provide the Belgium company with 600,000 metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The volume will be transported in 10 cargoes to various destinations in the US, Europe and the Far East.
Oman LNG was established in 1994 as a joint venture between the government of the Sultanate of Oman, which hold a 51 percent stake in the firm, the Royal Dutch/Shell Group with a 30 percent interest, TotalFinaElf (5.54 percent), Korea LNG (five percent), Partex (two percent), Mitsubishi (2.77 percent), Mitsui (2.77 percent) and Itochu (0.92 percent).
Tractebel LNG Trading is an subsidiary of Belgium's Tractebel SA, the energy division of French utility group Suez (SZE). It is a global energy and services business. — (menareport.com)
