Renovation of Oman’s Khaseb Port will begin next week. The Omani government commissioned the local Galfar Company to modernize the port at a cost of $25 million earlier this year, reported KUNA. The project has a target date of completion set for 2004.
Khaseb will be transformed into an international port, capable of receiving tourists from all over the world. The project is also expected play a vital role in developing trade with Iran and other neighboring countries. Khasab is in the Musandam province, which is in the northern part of the Sultanate of Oman on the Straits of Hormuz, facing Iran.
