Dubai residents have no reason to fear following the earthquake on Sunday afternoon, as all old and new buildings, villas and high-rises in the emirate are tremor resistant, an official in the Dubai Municipality’s Buildings Department said, according to Khaleej Times.
Moawya Saffarini, Head of the Structural Checking Unit in the Buildings Department, told the newspaper that the municipality has been implementing internationally recognized specifications for buildings for well over two decades now.
