ALBAWABA – Ahead of COMPUTEX tech conference in Taipei, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled the company’s upcoming artificial intelligence chip architecture, named "Rubin," which is planned to prevail over the previous “Blackwell” model that was announced just a few months earlier in March, now under development and anticipated to be delivered to clients late 2024.
“I can announce that after Blackwell, there’s another chip. We’re on a one-year rhythm,” Huang stated in the company’s Q1 2025 earnings call, revealing that Nvidia will now create new processors annually, compared to a two-year cycle as it had done earlier, announcing Ampere in 2020, Hopper in 2022, and Blackwell in 2024
Huang emphasized on Sunday that businesses in a variety of sectors would fall behind if they don't use AI. Saying that “The more you buy, the more you save. This is CEO's math. It is not accurate but it is correct!” adding that what he calls “computation inflation" of ever-increasing data requirements can only be controlled by AI chips.
“With our innovations in AI and accelerated computing, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and driving the next wave of technological advancement,” Huang noted, pointing out that “today, we’re at the cusp of a major shift in computing.”
In his farewell remarks, Huang referred to Taiwan as "the unsung hero of the coming AI industrial revolution." The audience and others watching the event livestreamed approved of Huang's appreciation for Taiwan, where he was born, as reported by Fox Business.
