A Jordanian company is to announce a new joint venture at Dubai 2003 – the international aerospace exhibition taking place from December 7 to 11, and hopes to corner a growing market for law enforcer aircraft.
Seabird Aviation Jordan will make its Dubai air show debut along with its Seabird Seeker SB7L – 360 aerial patrol aircraft. Surveillance and intelligence gathering as well as border, oil pipeline and environmental protection patrols are its specialty.
The Seeker is one of 85 aircraft expected to fly in to Dubai 2003 – the largest number of any Dubai show to date. More than 20 of the aircraft, including the F-16 Fighting Falcon, Airbus A340-600 and Mirage 2000, will take part in the daily flying displays.
Dubai 2003 is being organized by F&E in conjunction with the Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai and in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces. Exhibitors from 36 countries have contracted for Dubai 2003 with pavilion commitments from 13 nations, including Jordan and Ukraine for the first time.
Seabird Aviation Jordan is a joint venture between the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau in Jordan and Seabird Aviation Australia. Seabird will be established with full production facilities at the Queen Alia International Airport near the Jordanian capital Amman. A military version of the Seeker, the Stormer, is also under development. Seabird is also bidding for a potential order in neighboring Iraq. — (menareport.com)
