ALBAWABA - Wars have never failed to drive technological progress forward, the latest U.S.-Iran war has led the engineers at Lockheed Martin to develop a new anti-drone weapon called the ‘Morfius X-Rotor’.

Though a prototype has been revealed, the Morfius is still undergoing production before a final version can be sold to the U.S. military - which has been eyeing the anti-drone weapon.

Using its high power microwave, or HPM, it is reportedly capable of eliminating 50 drones in a single flight. And for the cherry and top; it is also meant to be recovered and reused, making it extremely viable in the long-term for defense budgets.

“[Morfius] sets a new benchmark for counter-drone capability — delivering a high kill rate while keeping the cost per kill low.

By leveraging a lightweight, field reusable high-power microwave architecture, we provide the most effective, low-cost solution on the market today.” Stated Randy Crites, vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Advanced Programs, in a press release.
