According to <i>Al-Ittihad</i> newspaper (June 26, 2005), following the instruction of the UAE President, Shaykh Khalifah Bin-Zayid Al Nuhayyan, the cabinet approved a budget of Dh 2.6 billion for developing the isolated areas of the UAE. For an instance, this includes a Dh 50 million allowance for renewing and refurbishing old houses in the Emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah.
According to this plan, 82 old houses in different areas of Ras Al-Khaimah will be refurbished. This initiative aims to improve the living conditions of the isolated areas' inhabitants, the cabinet reported.
