ALBAWABA - The fast-food restaurant business Chick-fil-A is preparing to introduce its own streaming service, a report by Deadline unveils, positioning itself as an unusual rival to companies like Netflix and Amazon Prime in the congested streaming market.

According to Deadline, Chik-fil-A has been in discussions with production studios in order to hunt for a library of material that is suitable for families, in addition to it having its own original productions. It is believed that the new network may begin operations as promptly as later this year.

Unscripted material, such as game shows, would apparently play a significant role in the emerging service that is now under development, with a show produced by the same studio behind NBC's The Wall already awarded an order for ten episodes.

Along with original written programs and animated series, Deadline also claimed that the streaming service may feature a game show created by Glassman Media and Sugar23. On the other hand, no information has been released about the name and availability of this streaming service.

The American fast-food chain, which boasts more than 3,000 locations, has previously created animated shorts for its website called Stories of Evergreen Hills. Additionally, it has expanded into emerging markets by producing games and puzzles for kids under the Pennycake name.

Chick-fil-A has not yet made any official announcements or comments on the programming endeavor, but a move into the entertainment industry might be a part of a larger strategy including consumer data or advertising, as The Verge reports.
