A cooperation agreement aimed at boosting bilateral trade, industrial and technology relations, between Morocco and Senegal has been signed by the presidents of the Dakar Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Marrakech Chamber of Industry and Services, reported the Pan-African News Service.

Under the terms of the agreement, which is renewable every three years, relations between the business communities of the two countries will be enhanced through economic missions and joint symposiums, conferences and other events, including trade fairs and exhibitions.

The organizations also agreed to allow reciprocal access to the chambers’ databanks, for obtaining necessary business information. They also expressed a commitment to helping the development of small and medium enterprises, and providing assistance to unemployed university and college graduates.

Noting the currently low volume of trade between Morocco and Senegal, the two urged that investment opportunities be explored in each other’s real estate, tourism and fishing sectors.

The agreement was signed in the Senegalese capital of Dakar by Mamadou Lamine Niang and his Moroccan counterpart, Mohamed Habib Berdail. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
