Morocco's industrial sector recorded a 2.7 percent growth for the third quarter of 2003, MAP reported a government think tank as saying.
Growth was recorded in the fields of agri-business, metallurgy, electricity, electronics and mineral processing. The sector is forecasted to grow by 4.6 percent during the first quarter of 2004.
Morocco's industrial sector accounts for approximately 20 percent of the nation's total gross domestic product (GDP). Phosphates production and processing is the sector's stronghold, followed by oil refining, cement, food processing, textiles, paper and timber, metals, rubber, plastics, and vehicle assembly. — (menareport.com)
