Saudi Arabia, the world's biggest oil exporter, said Wednesday, September 12, it would continue supplying crude to the United States to make up for any shortfall in the aftermath of Tuesday's terror attacks in New York and Washington.
Saudi Arabia "attaches great importance to the stability of the world oil market" and it will carry on exporting crude to the United States and other customers according to existing contracts, Oil Minister Ali Al-Nuaimi said.
Nuaimi was quoted by the official Saudi Press Agency, SPA, as saying Riyadh would cooperate with other OPEC members to make up for any shortfall in the world oil market.
Kuwait, another influential OPEC member, also vowed earlier Wednesday to help maintain market stability following the unprecedented attacks in the United States. ― (AFP, Riyadh)
