Students opting to study in the Middle East will have a wide array of courses on offer at the 15th Gulf Education and Training Exhibition, which is ranked as the leading event of its kind in the Middle East. Held April 11-14, 2003, at the Dubai World Trade Center, the exhibition is expected to witness a strong participation from Middle East based educational institutes.

The American University in Dubai, who will be participating at the event for the seventh year, will have a variety of degree programs on offer. The recently launched Center for Executive Programs and Professional Services, specializes in corporate training, consulting and academic conferencing.
The American University of Dubai's School of Engineering that has been launched in conjunction with Georgia Tech offers students a host of facilities and high standard of excellence. AMA International University Bahrain, ranked as the first Information Technology (IT) University in the kingdom, will be marking its first participation at the leading exhibition.
Students will be introduced to the new Bachelor degree course in Mechatronics Engineering, which is an integration of mechanical engineering, electronics engineering and computer science. The university also offers four bachelor degree courses in addition to graduate programs leading to a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters of Science in Computer Science (MSCS).
Affiliated with the prestigious AMA University in the Philippines, it currently has 150,000 students enrolled in the Philippines campus, which makes it a good choice in IT education. Other affiliations include the National Computing Center of the United Kingdom (NCC-UK),
National University of Singapore (NUS), University of California - Berkeley, American League of Colleges and Universities (ALOCU), Microsoft, Cisco, Avaya Communications, Smartforce and Festo.
Modern College of Business and Science, rated as the best educational institute in Oman, will be participating in the 15th Gulf Education and Training Exhibition, in a bid to promote its quality educational services in the Gulf region. Current programs on offer include the Baccalaureate degree level in MIS, Marketing, Accounting, Economics and Computer Science.
Plans are on the anvil to increase their offerings to comprise the Bachelor's degree level in Information Systems and a Master's degree in TESOL as well as an MBA. A major bonus is that most US universities recognize its programs as it has an affiliation with Missouri University in St. Loius.
Also participating at the event will be the innovative and newly established Syrian Virtual University (SVU), which is a governmental institution that offers online programs and degrees from partner universities in the USA, Europe, Australia and Canada. In addition to these international degrees, it also offers online degrees in Arabic, which are designed according to the latest developments in recent fields.
With a large number of students enrolled form the Gulf, SVU expects a larger turnout from the GCC in the coming years. Students can select from a preparatory year, a nine-month program aimed at preparing the students in both language proficiency necessary for international programs, the HND that is a two year degree developed to enable students to exploit knowledge of computing, web-based development.
The Virginia Commonwealth University-School of Arts in Qatar is financed by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. As an accredited branch campus of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, it offers programs in communication, arts and design, fashion design and merchandising and interior decoration.
