ALBAWABA - Microsoft has launched autonomous artificial intelligence agents that are capable of completing everyday business duties such as identifying sales leads and responding to questions from customers, with the goal to make a significant advancement in the field of workplace automation.

These AI-powered virtual agents were introduced by CEO Satya Nadella at an event held in London. Their purpose is to increase productivity by automating jobs that are repetitive, enabling human workers to concentrate on activities that are more strategic and value-driven, per his description.

Microsoft's Copilot Studio, the main component of this recent release, enables companies to develop their own AI agents without the need for coding knowledge. Microsoft is also offering 10 pre-built bots for jobs including supply chain management, sales, customer support, and finance in addition to customized agents.

In his remarks, Nadella underlined that these artificial intelligence agents would reduce "drudgery" and increase efficiency, therefore enabling people to concentrate on more vital and creative jobs.

In order to dramatically cut reaction times and enhance production, these virtual assistants are intended to automate boring operations like scheduling, data analysis, and answering customer questions. For example, McKinsey, which is one of the early users of this technology, has recorded a 90% reduction in lead time.

Comparing AI agents' innovative potential to that of personal computers decades ago, Microsoft is presenting them as a game-changer in the business world. According to Microsoft executive vice-president Charles Lamanna, artificial intelligence (AI) will ultimately permeate every aspect of company operations, boosting productivity and operational excellence.
