ALBAWABA -  Microsoft, the American multinational technology company, has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) model, positioning itself as a competitor to the models developed by OpenAI, the American AI research organization.

Microsoft competes with OpenAI

The well-known tech company is currently developing its own artificial intelligence (AI) models to compete with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, the popular chatbot.

According to sources, Microsoft has begun testing new AI models from xAI, Meta, and DeepSeek as it plans to replace the OpenAI models currently used in its Copilot, the generative AI chatbot developed by Microsoft.

Additionally, Microsoft has teased a new model called MAI, which the company developed to compete with major models, including those from OpenAI and Anthropic. Bloomberg reports that Microsoft is also developing new reasoning models designed to handle complex queries and provide solutions to challenging problems.

Microsoft launches MAI this year

The company is now heavily testing its new MAI model as it plans to replace it with OpenAI models, specifically those featured in Microsoft's Copilot chatbot.

The new model is expected to be launched later this year as an Application Programming Interface (API), allowing third parties and developers to integrate it into their own apps, both internally and externally.
