DNATA, the ground and airport handling agency at Dubai International Airport, has migrated to NOMAD, a cargo container management system from Mercator, the Dubai-based Emirates Group's Information Technology (IT) division.
NOMAD is a web-based solution to give Ground Handling Agents and airports the tools to manage stocks of containers, or “Unit Load Devices” more effectively. DNATA manages thousands of ULDs on behalf of more than 100 airlines, and NOMAD offers inventory, stock control and messaging functionality, damage and repair tracking modules, interline loaning modules and Management Information System tools.
DNATA was set up by the Dubai Government in 1959 to provide ground handling at Dubai International Airport—then newly opened. Today, as part of the Emirates Group of companies, it is one of the largest travel organizations in the Middle East with more than 5,500 staff. — (menareport.com)
