McDonald’s restaurants all over the world will celebrate World Children’s Day with initiatives designed to help needy children in every community that they serve. The World Children’s Day, started last year in association with United Nation’s Children’s Fund (UNICEF), falls on November 20, 2003.
In the Middle East, the local owners of the McDonald’s restaurants play a leading role in supporting this initiative. Last year, they generated and donated contributions that exceeded all expectations. These funds were channeled through local organizations to the children in their communities that needed them the most. This included the support of orphanages, children’s hospitals, and organizations that help children with special needs, or that suffer from serious diseases.
The response to these campaigns from the public has been astounding. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for example, McDonald’s owners are using their restaurants to facilitate contributions to the King Faisal National Center for Children’s Cancer.
McDonald’s restaurants serve over 46 million people every day in over 30,000 restaurants, in over 100 countries. They are committed to the World Children’s Day in every country that they operate in. — (menareport.com)
