Lebanon’s records 18 percent increase in tourism traffic

Lebanon received 100,361 tourists in September 2003, up 18 percent compared to the same period last year, reported the Ministry of Tourism. The figures exclude Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian visitors. 

 

The number of tourists entering Lebanon on a cumulative basis from January to September reached 818,554, up 5.6 percent compared to the first nine months of 2002.  

 

Arab tourists made up the majority of the country’s arrivals in September, accounting for 41 percent of the total visitors. European tourists accounted for 24 percent of visitor traffic and Asian tourists made up 18 percent of the total. — (menareport.com)
