Market sources estimate the value of computer software imports to Lebanon at $150 million per annum, while Lebanese software products export at $40 million per annum, according to Al-Bayan. The information technology (IT) market in Lebanon is estimated to grow at 15 percent annual rate.
Eleven Lebanese information technology companies are preparing to showcase at the 2001 Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX), which will take place in Dubai, October 14-18. In last year’s event, only seven Lebanese companies participated. The Lebanese pavilion at GITEX will spread over 160 square meters. — (Mena Report)
