Lebanese President Emile Lahoud has thanked the UAE-based Alaqariya Media Group for its contribution towards the war-torn country’s humanitarian efforts.

Lahoud was speaking during a meeting with a media delegation from the Alaqariya Media Group at the presidential palace in Babdaa  this week. The media delegation was headed by Dr Mohammad Adib Saleh, Chairman of Al Aqariya Media Group, and accompanied by Al Aqariya TV Lebanon General Manager Wassim Mandil,  Sara Real Estate CEO Issa Saleh, Hayek Group CEO Engineer Abdallah Hayek and legal advisor Rashid Ayoub.

Alaqariya TV, the leading real estate and toursim channel in the Middle East, recently endorsed, in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent Society, the ‘United for Lebanon’ campaign, a humanitarian undertaking aiming to ease the suffering of civilians during the war in Lebanon.

The campaign generated high awareness across Europe and the MENA region. Alaqariya dedicated two weeks of programming solely to the victims of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, with a fundraising telethon that generated donations of over Dhs 51 million.

Lahoud praised the Alaqariya Group and highlighted the invaluable role and contribution of the media in the region. “Whichever part of the world they live in, the Lebanese people have worked tirelessly towards reflecting to the world the picture of Lebanon as it truly is – a growing country full of potential and ambition,” he said. “Lebanon is proud of its citizens, the likes of Dr. Saleh and we wish him prosperity in all his endeavors.”

Consolidating its presence in the region, Alaqariya is planning a mega-construction project in Lebanon. The project, which bears the design of the Cedar, is expected to attract  capital and investors to the country, boosting Lebanon’s economy.

“By providing this latest development venture in Lebanon combined with our corporate social responsibility, Alaqariya Media Group has once again proved that it remains dedicated to growth in the motherland and the region,”  explained Mohammed Saleh, Chairman of Alaqariya Group. “Through its allegiance to welfare and progress, Alaqariya is synonymous with providing world-class real estate projects while contributing positively to the communities in this region.”

Alaqariya TV (Real Estate Channel) has become a trustworthy voice in the industry. It is the only television station that provides up-to-the-minute market insight to the channel’s 120 million viewers across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe. Alaqariya TV broadcast is free-to-air via Arabsat, Nilesat and Hotbird and is also available on E-Vision, DIC Telcom, QTel, other regional cable television platforms, in addition to being available on the Electronic Programming Guides (‘EPG’) of both Orbit and Showtime.
