Technology distributor Layout Middle East has teamed up with Hewlett Packard (HP) to offer special prices on QuarkXPress for Windows products with every HP workstation sold, stated a press release.
“There are a large number of small to medium size publishers in the region who use Windows-based machines to do the same job as larger printing houses,” pointed out Category and Marketing Manager of HP, Gigliola Graziani. “We see a tremendous potential in this market segment. There is also a growing corporate SME segment that is incorporating some of its day-to-day publishing in-house, creating a demand for professional publishing products used on PCs in the office,” she added.
HP is a provider of products, technologies, solutions and services to consumers and businesses. The company's offerings span IT infrastructure, personal computing and access devices, global services and imaging and printing. HP completed its merger transaction involving Compaq Computer Corporation in May.
HP has been present in the Middle East since 1968, and opened its Dubai based regional office in 1997 and has offices in Dubai, Ramallah, Cairo, Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar servicing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Levant and Egypt.
Founded in 1981, Denver-based Quark Inc is a privately held developer of tools and technologies for media-independent publishing. Quark has been providing software for professional publishing since its flagship product QuarkXPress changed the course of traditional publishing.
