Kuwait’s Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) has received ISO 14001 certification. The company was awarded the certificate after inspection of the department of environment efficiency by Lloyds company, reported KUNA.
Board Director and associate member of PIC Saad Al-Shuwaib said the company is the first in the Kuwaiti oil sector to receive the ISO 14001 certificate. PIC was awarded in the past the ISO 200 and ISO 9001 certificates for the marketing of polypropylene, ammonia and urea.
PIC is one of six specialized subsidiaries of state-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, (KPC). It represents the petrochemical arm of KPC and produces fertilizer and petrochemicals. PIC invested in the modernization of its fertilizer complex in Kuwait last year and runs a 100,000 ton per annum polypropylene plant through special arrangement with EQUATE Petrochemical Company. — (menareport.com)
