The President of the Khalifa Group, the largest private group in Algeria, Rafiq Khalifa, revealed that his group is planning to establish a huge international airport in Algeria similar to the Dubai International Airport, reported Al-Hayat . Khalifa added that several Belgian companies are interested in building the new airport, which will be converted into a center for Khalifa Airline operations. The new airport will be constructed nearly 100 kilometers from the Algerian capital city but will be connected with the capital by a railway network to ease passenger movement. The new airport, which costs $10 billion, will be built to handle 15 million passengers per annum. It will be able to host up to 70 planes at the same time including 380 giant Airbus planes. — (menareport.com)
