A blacklist naming 50 Jordanian hotels and tour operators was distributed by Syrian authorities among local travel agencies, barring them from doing business with the “normalizers” who reportedly maintain business ties with Israeli counterparts, reported UPI.
The Jordanian agents protested the move claiming they provide services only for the Arab population residing within Israel. With prospects of a US-led war against the kingdom’s eastern neighbor Iraq looming, King Abdullah is facing mounting domestic risks. The kingdom which is a close regional ally of the United States, has also signed a peace treaty with its Western neighbor Israel in 1994. — (menareport.com)
