Jordanian foreign investment into Israel dropped to $359 million this past April, down from $454 million in the previous month, reported the Bank of Israel. Total Jordanian investments into the country during the first four months of 2001 reached $1.62 billion compared to $4.94 billion during the corresponding period in the previous year.

Israel and Jordan signed a peace treaty in 1994, creating an increase in bilateral foreign investments in the years following. Foreign investments into Israeli companies more than doubled to $5.5 billion and investments into Jordan increase more than 14 times to $43 million in the first year following the signing of the pact. — (menareport.com)
