Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Halayqeh stated that a 300 million Jordanian dinar ($423 million) economic and social development plan will be launched by the government in January 2002, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat.

The plan has three chief objectives—to raise the quality of the government’s services, to improve the local infrastructure system and to execute development projects throughout the Kingdom.

Addressing a political and economic forum organized by the Scientific Research Center of the Arab Bank, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed that these goals will be achieved mainly by developing local human resources. — (menareport.com)
