Italy to grant Yemen €2.5 million for Socotra island development

Yemeni and Italian governments inked in Sana'a on Wednesday a partnership agreement to support the program of sustainable development and preserving the diversity of Socotra island. 

 

According to the agreement, the Italian government will grant Yemen €2.5 million of the the total UNDP grant of $6 million. 

 

The program aims at supporting the governmental attempts to enhance the economic growth, especially in the tourist, environment, and fishery wealth sectors. In addition, the Italian governemen will support the administration of the Yemeni natural protectorates, SABA reported. (menareport.com)
