Istithmar, Dubai World's subsidiary for foreign investment, is expected to carry out several extensive studies on real estate projects in Italy according to leading industry experts.
Chairman of Dubai World, Sultan Ahmad bin Sulayem, recently stressed the importance of relations between the UAE and Italy, saying that the latter was “an important international tourist destination in its own right,” according to Khaleej Times.
"Relations between the UAE and Italy have been solid and coherent for decades and there is dynamic business activity between Dubai and Rome. Dubai World seeks the best ties with Italy and we will not spare any effort to achieve full cooperation,” Sulayem added.
"We will explore business opportunities in sectors like hospitality, tourism and mountain and coastal resorts. DP World is very interested in exploring the marine services opportunities available and the potential for operating and managing Italian ports and adding them to its international network," Sulayem went on to point out.
