Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassine Ramadan will visit Algeria soon for talks on strengthening bilateral ties, the state INA news agency reported Sunday, September 9. The announcement was made during Ramadan's meeting with the Algerian ambassador to Baghdad, Mustapha Abu Tura, INA said.
Iraq and Algeria, which enjoy good relations, signed several contracts in July worth over $100 million during a visit by an Algerian economic-commercial delegation. According to figures published in Baghdad, Algerian exports to Iraq in the first half of 2001 reached some $55 million. — (AFP, Baghdad)
