Iraqi Minister of Health Khudair Abbas has confirmed his attendance at Iraq Procurement 2004 – Meet the Buyers, an event scheduled to take place in London, UK in April.
Iraq Procurement 2004 has been organized in order to provide a forum for those looking for opportunities to gain contracts and sub-contracts for the work involved in rebuilding Iraq. The event is based on a high-level visiting delegation of Iraqi ministers, their deputies, and senior ministry directors and counselors. Also included in the delegation are a number of leading Iraqi contractors and their families.
While a number of conferences have been held recently publicizing reconstruction opportunities, few have properly addressed the genuine need for an uninterrupted supply of materials and joint ventures, and none have offered the key players the opportunity to meet with international companies capable of servicing the needs of Iraqi contractors.
Director of the Iraq Program Management Office for the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), David J. Nash has confirmed his attendance at the event. Iraq Procurement 2004 immediately follows the awarding of up to $18.6 billion in contracts from the Nash program and is prior to the handover from the CPA to the new Iraqi government in July. — (menareport.com)
