Iraq is Jordan’s largest Arab importer

Official statistics show that Iraq was the second largest importer and the largest Arab importer of Jordanian products last year. Jordan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce revealed that Jordanian exports to Iraq totaled 161 million Jordanian dinars last year, 11.9 percent of the Kingdom’s total annual exports. In 2000, Jordanian exports to Iraq totaled JD 100 million, 9.3 percent of Jordan’s total exports that year. 

 

Some 74 percent of Jordan’s total exports headed for Arab markets over the past 10 years. Jordan's earnings from Arab markets were their highest in 1997 at Dh 561 million, ($790 million) compared to Dh 222 million ($312 million) in 1992. — (menareport.com)
