Talks collapsed: Iran's delegation returns home after 18 hours

ALBAWABA - Iran's state media reported Monday that the Iranian delegation, which left for Switzerland for peace negotiations to end the war, has returned home after 18 hours of talks.

The delegation, led by chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, "left the building where the talks were held after about 18 hours of intensive talks and consultations", Iran's state news agency (IRNA) said Monday.

The Tehran delegation is currently en route back to the Islamic Republic after "intensive" negotiations. Additionally, Iran's Foreign Ministry revealed that it is forming working groups and starting negotiations to reach a conditional agreement on implementing Articles 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11 of the Memorandum (MoU).

The ministry added that during yesterday's talks, the group discussed the sale of oil and the issuance of exemptions for its export, the release of our funds, and measures were taken to implement the procedures.

Yesterday night, after 80 minutes since the start of the meeting, the delegation walked out of the peace talks following threatening comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump and the Israeli military's continued aggression in Lebanon.

According to Iranian media, negotiators did not reach the topic of nuclear negotiations before Iran's representatives left the place.
