According to <i>Al-Ahli</i>, the General Railway Company in Iraq has announced its investment plan for the current year, which includes the implementations of numerous projects at the cost of US$5 billion. In a statement issued by the company, Salaam Jabber Salaam, the managing director of the company said that among the projects is the establishment of a rail road between Baghdad and other provinces.
He added that communication systems will be updated by using sophisticated wireless equipment. In his statement, he also conveyed that the plan includes the repair of important bridges and stations.
