Iran's Aseman Airline Co. is planning to purchase six Fokker aircrafts this year. the planes will cost the airliner US$40 million, Ali Abedzadeh, the company’s managing director, said on Monday.
According to MNA, he said that except for the six Fokker planes, the company is not planning to buy any other aircraft.
Referring to the number of the serviceable aircrafts in the company, he disclosed that together with the 12 Fokker aircraft purchased last year, the number of airplanes owned by the Iranian airliner will reach 25, four being Boeings, 15 Fokker planes and six French ATRs. He also added that the airline company has phased out three of its decrepit Fokker 28.
“Currently, the number of the passengers of the airliner has increased by some 80 percent compared to the figures in 2002 when the company transported slightly over 1,000,000 passengers per annum,” Abedzadeh was quoted as saying.
