Hertz in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently opened its latest branch at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. It is the ninth Hertz branch operated by Al-Futtaim Group, the Hertz franchisee in the UAE, stated a press release.
The arrival of Hertz car rental services at Abu Dhabi International Airport is part of an expansion of the company’s services across the Middle East. Hertz has an exclusive partner agreement with Gulf Air, for whom Abu Dhabi International Airport is the second main hub. Hertz also credits miles on almost all other major frequent flyer programs.
The airport branch will give passengers access to a fleet of new vehicles, including the Honda City and the first Group A car to be introduced with automatic transmission. Also available will be the Honda Civic and Accord, Toyota Corolla and Landcruiser, as well as seven-seat vans.
Hertz UAE opened its first Abu Dhabi branch last August. The company expects Abu Dhabi to generate a substantial part of its overall car rental business. The Al-Futtaim Group also operates five Hertz-branches in Dubai, as well as two in Sharjah.
Hertz operates from over 7,000 locations in 144 countries. In the Middle East, Hertz is represented by franchise operations in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the UAE and Yemen. — (menareport.com)
