A new gas pipeline construction project has recently begun, stretching between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar and through the United Arab Emirates.
Al-Watan newspaper reported that The Emirates Offset Group, which has been commissioned with the execution of this project, recently signed partnership contracts with Enron Company and Total-Fina-Elf Company to pump, ship and sell gas to the final consumers.
Named the “Dolphin” project, this is the world’s largest energy project, planned to pump nearly three billion cubic feet of gas per day. The total costs of the project are assessed at $8-10 billion. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
