ALBAWABA - Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA), the upcoming video game from Rockstar Games, is expected to cost around $2 billion for development.

GTA VI's $2B new release

The new edition of the famous game has a total development cost of nearly $2 billion, surpassing the $1.5 billion cost of the Burj Khalifa, Dubai's iconic 828-meter skyscraper, which was built over six years.

Rockstar Games, the New York City-based video game publisher, has been developing GTA VI for nearly seven years, with a planned release around 2026.

The game's development includes countless details, which explain its massive budget. Notably, it will feature a vast map, revolutionary physics, hyper-realistic graphics, and hundreds of music tracks.

The game will also feature multiple cities, international locations, an expansive world, improved props, and the ability for players to fly to another country to escape from authorities.

According to the company, the development budget will pay off instantly with high revenues as GTA V had a total revenue of nearly $800 million in its first day, $1 billion in its first three days, and $7.7 billion in 10 years.

GTA VI is expected to be released in May 2026, with a price tag of $100.
