Gitex attracts large Hong Kong Pavilion

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) expects strong participation at the Hong Kong Pavilion at Gitex Dubai 2000, which will take place at the Dubai World Trade Center between October 26 and November 2, 2000.  

 

One firm that has confirmed its participation is Ashai (HK) Ltd., a Hong Kong manufacturer of rechargeable battery packs. Gulf News reports that it will display of range of products, including rechargeable battery packs for mobile phones, camcorders and cordless phones, desktop chargers and plug-in chargers. Through Gitex, Ashai hopes to increase the popularity of its Sunpower brand throughout the Middle East.  

 

Another company exhibiting its goods is Viewcom Technology Co. Ltd., which manufactures and exports communications and multimedia products. Based in Hong Kong, the company exports to the U.S., Europe, Russia, India and Southeast Asia. At Gitex it hopes to nominate local distributors, which would enable it to expand its distribution network to the UAE and the entire Middle East region. Viewcom's product line includes television set boxes for Internet browsing, cheap mode cameras and digital still-cameras.  

 

Pine Technology Holding Company will also have a presence at the Hong Kong pavilion. A computer manufacturer, Pine Technology will feature a range of PC components, including VGA cards, sound cards, and fax modems, digital music players and PC cameras.  

 

Fine Computers Ltd., a manufacturer of computer audio accessories, aims to utilize Gitex 2000 to further penetrate the Indian and African markets. – (Albawaba-MEBG)
