ALBAWABA - Boris Pistorius, German Defense Minister, stressed on the importance of investing in the navy and submarines due to the threats Germany is facing by Russia. Pistorius hinted that Germany will be purchasing four submarines (type 212CD) after negotiating the available budget.
Pistorius stressed on the fact that Germany will be facing more challenges if Donald Trump becomes the new president of the United States, as Germany resembles the largest economy in the European Union. The minister is looking forward fast and applicable scenarios to face the continuous threats and attacks from Moscow, Russia.
Germany to buy 212CD submarines
Germany requested to purchase two 212CD submarines, with the option to purchase four to six more others. It is worth mentioning that the value of four submarines will approximately cost Germany 4 billion euros ($4.3 billion) as reported by German Press Agency (DPA).

The manufacturing of the 212CD submarines will be implemented by Germany and Norway in a joint project. This project is worth billions of Euros as stated and reported.
The first four 212CD submarines for Norway are being manufactured in the time being at the thyssenkrupp Marine Systems company in Kiel, Germany.
